Montauk Fish Hatchery

Driving Directions

Montauk Fish Hatchery/Trout Park is inside Montauk State Park, southeast of Licking. From Highway 137 turn east on Route VV and go 10 miles to Highway 119. Turn right on Highway 119 and watch for signs.

Highlights

The hatchery is on the headwaters of the Current River. Facilities/features: five fishing jetties, two springs (Montauk Springs, Bluff Springs), Montauk Lake (five acres).

Fishing - Trout Good population. Rainbow trout are stocked daily from March - October. Catch and release season from November - February.

Hiking  No MDC designated trails, trails are in State Park 
Tours  Hatchery tours are on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day weekend. Each tour begins at the hatchery office at 1:00 pm. Tours for school and special groups can be arranged in advance by calling the hatchery office or e-mailing Tom.Whelan@mdc.mo.gov.
