Join us to learn about the fascinating insect that is the Honey Bee, why it is important, why it in in danger of going extinct and how we can help save it. You have heard of bird baths, but have you heard of a bee bath? Participants will be able to make their own bee bath to take home with them after the presentation. We will be working with acrylic paint, so please bring a smock or clothes that can get paint on them!

Fishing is a great way for everyone to have fun outdoors, learn about conservation, and make lasting memories in nature and making your own jig is a great way to customize a fishing lure to a specific type of fish or a particular stretch of stream. It’s also an added sense of accomplishment knowing that you caught a fish with a lure you made. This workshop will focus on tying hair jigs. Participants will learn how to tie hair jigs that can be used in warm waters of northeast Missouri. Participants should bring reading glasses if they require them, MDC will provide all other equipment and supplies.

This workshop is for participants 16 years old and older. Participants age 10-15 also are welcome when accompanied by an adult. Registration is required. Hurry! Space and materials are limited.
